If you decide to list your property with a fixed price, within a price range or 'by negotiation', I will ask you to list with me on a sole agency basis for a period of time that suits us both.

Under this arrangement I would recommend that we look at a three to four week marketing program similar to those programs used for auctions and tenders. The difference between a Sole Agency and the other types of agencies is that you would not have a deadline to focus on. In this case there may be less pressure on customers to make a decision to purchase.

Barfoot & Thompson Remuera sole agency properties are allocated a limited budget for marketing on the proviso that they are saleable within a reasonable time frame.

Compared to a general (or multi) listing, sole agencies benefit in the following ways:

  • I take full responsibility for selling your property (you do not need to deal with other listing agents with varying skill levels)
  • You receive some marketing (most companies provide very little or none at all)
  • You receive feedback from one company (feedback from two or more companies can cause price distortions, stress and confusion)
  • You receive regular written and verbal reports from me
  • You receive support from neighbouring Barfoot & Thompson branches
  • We have a network of over 1000 salespeople in over 60 branches
  • www.barfoot.co.nz , www.realestate.co.nz and www.trademe.co.nz is free to all Barfoot & Thompson clients

Please note that the Commerce Commission does not allow the following (eg):
